Join AGC MA and local labor relations experts for a three-part series designed for construction industry managers and supervisors. Participants will gain knowledge about fundamental labor relations topics and the skills needed to successfully cultivate union-management relationships.
Sessions 1 and 2: Led by seasoned Labor Law attorney Jim Grosso, Esq., these two sessions will cover a range of topics including key provisions of union trade collective bargaining agreements, how to handle jurisdictional issues when they arise, the differences between a grievance and an unfair labor practice charge, and an overview of multi-employer trust funds, including the role of trustees.
Session 3: An interactive panel discussion featuring local labor relations leaders Joseph Byrne, Executive Secretary-Treasurer, North Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, Joseph Bonfiglio, Business Manager of the Massachusetts and Northern New England Laborers District Council, Jim Grosso, Esq., Maureen Kirkpatrick, Vice President and Operations Manager, Turner Construction, and Michael Sanchez, COO New England, Shawmut Design and Construction and current Chair of the AGC Labor Relations Division. Panelists will discuss the importance of relationship building in labor relations, conflict resolution skills, and current joint labor-management initiatives.
