VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!

Join the AGC MA Construction Leadership Council (CLC) for our Annual Service Day!

This year, we’re excited to partner with the Boston Housing Authority to renovate and revamp the South Street Youth Center. Your involvement will help transform this vital community space, where Boston’s youth can learn and grow together.

What You Can Expect:

Painting: Refresh the space with a new coat of paint.
Cleaning: Help us ensure the center is spotless and welcoming.
Furniture Assembly: Put together new furniture to enhance the facility.
Simple Repairs: Assist with minor fixes to improve the center’s functionality.
And Much More!: Be part of various tasks that make a big difference.

Volunteer Spots are Limited!
Due to the size of the Youth Center, we can only accommodate a limited number of volunteers. If you’re unable to join us in person, you can still contribute by sponsoring essential equipment and furniture for the South Street Youth Center.

Items Available for Sponsorship:
Your sponsorship makes a lasting impact on the youth we serve, and we want to celebrate your generosity. Sponsors will receive recognition on our website and social media, acknowledgment on signs during the sponsored event or unveiling, and a permanent sign displayed in the Youth Center to honor your support for years to come.

Youth Side - Modular Tables Package ($1,800)
This sponsorship will provide large modular tables (6) that give kids the space to learn, create, and connect — whether it’s for homework, group activities, or just hanging out together.

Youth Side - Rec Furniture Package ($2,000)
This sponsorship will help the kids stay comfortable while having fun: Pool Table (1), Navy L-shaped Couch (1), Blue Chairs (2), Black Rolling Chairs (16)

Youth Side - Furniture Package 2 ($1,500)
This sponsorship will outfit the Youth Side with essential furniture and storage, creating a welcoming and organized space: Entry Table (1), Black Bookshelves (4), Locking Storage Cabinets (3), Bathroom Storage (1), Kitchen Island (1), Green Area Rugs 9x12 (2)

Bench Seating Comfort Package ($1,300)
This sponsorship will transform underused bench seating into a welcoming, comfortable space for kids and teens. Custom breathable linen cushions in warm gray make long benches inviting for studying, relaxing, and connecting — creating a space that’s not only functional, but also cozy and enjoyable for everyone.

Teen Side - Podcast Studio Foundations Package ($1,100) SOLD
This sponsorship will provide the essential structure and atmosphere: black room dividers for privacy, wood-grain decorative wall panels to define the space, and a round oak coffee table as a central gathering point. Together, these create the foundation for a professional and creative teen podcasting studio.

Teen Side - Podcast Comfort & Style Package ($900) SOLD
~~This sponsorship will make the podcast space inviting and comfortable: sleek black couches and stylish green chairs that give teens a welcoming place to relax, collaborate, and record with confidence.~~

Teen Side - Furniture & Studio Package ($1,700)
This sponsorship will equip the Teen Side with the tools and furniture they need to learn, create, and collaborate. Rolling chairs and vertical storage make the computer room efficient and comfortable. Folding tables and shelving support t-shirt printing and hands-on projects. Additional shelving keeps storage organized, while acoustic tiles transform the recording studio into a professional space for music and podcasts.

Youth Center - Creative Tech Package ($900)
This sponsorship will bring cutting-edge tools into the center, giving teens and youth the equipment they need to create, learn, and showcase their talents. It includes a mounted TV and tablet stand for the entry, mic stands and podcast equipment for the Teen Side, and a backdrop roller unit to enhance the Youth Side photography studio.

Youth Center - A/C Package ($900) SOLD
This sponsorship ensures that every room in the center is welcoming and comfortable. With new AC units installed throughout, kids and teens can focus on learning, creating, and connecting without the distraction of the heat.

About South Street Youth Center:
South Street Youth Center (SSYC) provides a safe and engaging space for young residents of the South Street Development in Jamaica Plain. Founded in 1996 in response to neighborhood violence, SSYC now offers out-of-school programs that support 1st–10th grade students—primarily from low-income Latino and African-American families. Its programs build confidence, resilience, and leadership skills, helping youth overcome the effects of poverty and racism while preparing them to thrive in school and their communities.
