Building Resilience to Stress During Times of Change and Uncertainty

With the pandemic spreading to all areas of the country, people being warned to stay at home and nightly news reporting daily the numbers of people diagnosed and dying from COVID-19 the emotional toll people are being subjected to is becoming overwhelming. 

Dr. Stephanie Straeter is a practicing psychologist and a wellness educator with a special expertise in stress and anxiety and how it impacts the human mind and body. 

Please join the webinar as she provides ways to help deal with stress and anxiety caused not only by COVID-19 but other life trauma.  Dr. Straeter is offering skills and techniques people can use for life. 


Stephanie V. Straeter is a licensed clinical psychologist in N.Y., California and Florida, and a Wellcoach certified Health and Wellness Coach. She assisted in the creation of HMC HealthWork’s Wellness and Behavioral Health Advocacy Programs. She is involved in maintaining the quality of these programs.

Additionally, she has a private practice which includes teletherapy, coaches and trains coaches and medical professionals in utilizing Motivational Interviewing, Appreciative Inquiry, Transtheoretical Model of Change, Nonviolent Communication and Positive Psychology.

She has over 19 years’ experience in a wide range of clinical settings. Prior to HMC HealthWorks she was a Clinical Director of a Residential/ Outpatient Eating Disorder facility where she assisted in the creation of the program and delivered clinical services (e.g. Dialectical Behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral Groups, Gorsky’s Relapse Prevention/ Discharge Planning, Group Process, Family/Couples Therapy and Individual Therapy), conducted training and supervision to staff and interns and maintained a private practice.

Over the years, she has also held other clinical positions including Substance Abuse Group Therapist, Child Therapist, Family Therapist, Parent-Child Interaction Therapist, Rape Counselor, Crisis Intervention and Short-Term Therapy Therapist, and a Psychological Evaluator.
