Description

AGC MA BUILDING ENDURANCE SERIES: LEARNING TO  NAVIGATE THE COVID-19 CRISIS

An AGC MA  series addressing the immediate challenges that COVID-19 represents to the workforce, clients and employees.

Please join us for our next webinar of the Building Endurance series presented by Robinson+Cole & GZA.

Getting Back to Work: Important Concerns for the AEC Community

This program will address three important topics that AGC Members should understand when deciding whether and how to return to the office and the project site including:

  • The broader resiliency issues during shut-downs.
  • The critical plan in returning business to scale as quickly as possible.
  • The shift in the regulatory and competitive environment.

Moderated by former AGC MA Board Member Joseph A. Barra, Esq., our three panelists will discuss the practical considerations of moving forward in a COVID-19 environment as they pertain to Labor and Employment, Industrial Hygiene and Risk Management.

Please send any questions in advance to info@agcmass.org

Matthew T. Miklave, Esq. is a partner in Robinson & Cole LLP’s Labor & Employment Group with over 30 years of experience advising clients on issues involving the workplace. Matt will discuss key issues likely to be addressed when working in a COVID-19 world including how to determine the order of recall, workplace protocols, and how to be better prepared to take on the Coronavirus’ next wave.

Brian P. Morrill, CHMM, CIT is an Associate Principal and Technical Practice Lead in GZA GeoEnvironmental Inc.’s Environmental Health & Safety/Regulatory Compliance Practice and has been providing strategic advice on a wide range of EHS risks for over 25 years.  Brian will address how current Federal, State and Local Guidelines will apply to the project site, focusing on worker screening, site control, monitoring compliance, and the use of PPE.

Aniello (Niel) P. Franzese, Esq., is an associate in Robinson & Cole LLP’s Construction Practice Group and provides risk management advice to contractors, subcontractors, owners, sureties, design professionals and others on a variety of vertical and horizontal projects.  Niel will discuss how existing risk management tools are ill-equipped to address the kind of risks presented by the COVID-19 pandemic paying particular attention to the new rules recently adopted by the City of Boston, affidavits of compliance and a contractor’s liability for certification.

Joseph A. Barra, Esq. is a partner in the Boston Office of Robinson & Cole LLP’s Construction Practice Group and has been advising all members of the built environment for over 30 years.  Joe is a degreed civil engineer and practices construction law in Massachusetts, New York and Vermont.  Joe will be the program’s moderator and with the assistance of all three panelists, will field questions from the audience following the conclusion of all three presentations.
